Hamburgefonts is a blind text that is particularly suitable for assessing the design and the appearance of a typeface. It contains all essential forms, so that the character of the respective font can be recognized quickly. It consists of the letters that are often first designed when designing a typeface.
A proposta então foi a de construirmos cada caractere a partir de uma Hamburgefontiv, e então fazermos nossas próprias alterações particulares – sem que a estrutura original se perdesse.

Logo de início, removi os aspectos estruturais curvilíneos, de modo a deixar o corpo dos tipos mais ‘bruto’. Usei como referências gráficas tanto a estrutura de tipos góticos, como as letras características do pixo. Meu objetivo principal era o de construir uma letra que pudesse se equilibrar tanto no clássico, como no contemporâneo, sem perder a essência original da Hamburgefontiv. Devido às fortes referências ao graffiti, nomeei a fonte como ‘Hamburgefontivandal’.

I removed the curvilinear structural aspects, so I'd have a thicker and ‘cruder’ typeface. As graphic references I used both the structure of Gothic types, and the characteristic letters of graffiti tags. My main goal was to build a typeface that could balance both classic and contemporary, without losing the original essence of Hamburgefontiv. Due to the strong graffiti references, I named the typeface as 'Hamburgefontivandal'.

Como peça gráfica de aplicação, quis propor algo que também carregasse o conceito de arte urbana, então propus uma embalagem para carregar material para graffiti. A embalagem seria no formato de uma caixa de pizza oitavada, de modo que “disfarçasse” seu conteúdo. Utilizando a Hamburgefontivandal então criei um logo para a embalagem.

As a graphic application for the typeface, I wanted to design something that also carried the urban concept, so I made a package to carry graffiti material. The packaging would be in the shape of an octagonal pizza box, so it would "disguise" whats inside. Using Hamburgefontivandal I then created a logo for the packaging.
